Once we finished the photo shoot, we headed into the large hall where the wedding reception was being held at Old Mill Toronto. As the guests began to arrive, it became clear that the food would be the central focus of the event. The food would be served at the table, on the bar, and even in individual bowls. Everything was made fresh and tasted great. The band was stationed near the entrance and kept playing throughout the event. The DJ played everything from pop to classic rock to country to jazz. I was able to capture some good moments for the couple, including the first dance and toast to the happy couple. It was a fun night, the couple had an amazing first dance, and everyone had a great time. Our photographer, Calin, was very relaxed and engaged with everyone, taking in the setting of the reception and what the room would look like with all the lights on and people dancing. We made sure that each guest had plenty of time to take some photos, as there was a lot to choose from and they were eager to show off their wedding day photos.
We sat in the back room, and chatted with my client and her bridesmaids. We shared a few drinks and nibbles, and got to know each other a bit better. I was able to capture some of the fun moments of the night with a couple of quick photos of the bride dancing with her friends, or with her groomsmen and us.
I loved the energy in the room, it was a really fun atmosphere. After the dance party came to an end, everyone headed into the larger room for a nice dinner. We had a chance to take some great shots of everyone enjoying themselves at the reception.
