Bride Getting Ready for Her Wedding at Old Mills Toronto

Once we finished the portraits of the groom and his groomsmen, we starting taking bridal portraits. This was not my first time working at Old Mill, so I was thrilled to see how the venue fit in perfectly.

There are a few things that made this shoot unique for me:

1. It was a lot of fun being in a different location, and seeing how the surroundings and people are. It made me appreciate the fact that we live in this amazing place - the city of Toronto.

2. The venue has a beautiful courtyard. It was perfect for a wedding shoot, and the weather was amazing!

3. The setting was really gorgeous, and provided me with the perfect background for all of the photos.

4. The staff of the venue was really nice and helpful, and allowed us to take as much time as we needed to set up everything.

5. There were some incredible DIY elements that the bride and her mom had done in order to bring the environment to life.

The bride was getting ready with her mom and dad, and a few bridesmaids were getting dressed.

The bride was wearing an off-white gown and her mom was helping her to get ready. A few of the bridesmaids had on white dresses, but they weren’t all ready yet. When they all arrived, we moved to the ceremony location to photograph the bride, the bridesmaids, and the groom. I met the bride's parents at the venue to discuss the plan for the wedding shoot, and got a chance to ask them some questions. As soon as the groom saw me, he knew what I was going to be doing, and we had a great laugh about it.

The next thing I noticed was that the bride's mom was putting on some makeup. I thought that was interesting, because she usually doesn’t do that. I asked her why she was putting on the makeup, and she explained that she wanted to look her best. The makeup was something that she'd been wanting to try, and she was excited to show it to her daughter. After the bride looked in the mirror, we moved to the ceremony location to start taking photos. The bride and her bridesmaids were getting ready, and the groom was already there. We started with the bride, and I had a good idea of where I wanted to go with the photos.

We were running behind schedule, and it was time to get going. The bride was still getting ready, and I the maid of honour helped her put on her veil. It took a few tries, but eventually she did it, and we were ready to move to the next location. We did the portraits of the bride and her mom, then headed back to get the bridesmaids in order.

The groom and bride were married in a beautiful church ceremony. There were a lot of smiles from the guests, and it was obvious that everyone enjoyed the experience.
