Immediately after arriving at this King Edward Hotel wedding, I started taking pictures of the details namely the rings, the shoes, the bridal bouquet, the garter, the hairpiece, earrings, bracelet, wedding invitation and perfume. Long story short I wanted to capture in this photograph the essence of the low story unfolding on the special day. Often, as wedding photographers we neglect capturing the small things that define or refine the atmosphere of the big day. We are often in a time crunch running to the wedding ceremony or the bride does I have those elements handy.
At the beginning of my career as a Toronto wedding photographer, I learned that shoes and the wedding dress in particular are very important to the bride. As such, I am committed to taking amazing pictures of the shoes and the dress. Of course, I want to sacrifice capturing the moments, but in my opinion, with proper planning, the big day can go smoothly and we can find a time to document both the genuine emotions, the love, the tears and happy moments as well as the small details.
To create this beautiful photograph I placed the shoes on a table in the beautiful bridal suite at the King Edward Hotel.
Next, I placed the engagement ring and the wedding bands vertically besides the shoes and asked my second photographer to hold the light so I can illuminate the rings properly. I took a couple of frames and selected this particular one which is my favourite.
