This photograph was taken before the couple's reception at King Edward Hotel in downtown Toronto. The exact place is in front of the main entrance where the level drop off the bride and groom and the bridal party. In fact if you look into the limo's tinted windows you can also see the reflection of the beautiful hotel.
Once everybody got off the limo and we were about to head towards St. James Cathedral for our photo shoot, I noticed an opportunity to take an artistic photograph of the bride and groom. I see that most of the big day my preferred photography style is documentary, capturing the love, the moments and the candid emotions. However, I always love to create those moments that rarely happen when wedding day. The problem of the groom kissing the bride's neck while she's reclining against the limo is close to zero. As such, even though I am a documentary wedding photography by nature, I love prompting the couples when I see such an opportunity. Here, the bride and groom come closer to the limo. I positioned my 23 mm lens mounted on my Fuji XT2 camera to touch the windshield. I remove my lens So that I can get a properly reflection and I tilted my camera for more dynamic composition.
Because I was using mainly natural light and we were shooting so close to the King Eddy, the light was coming from above. One of the rules is to have the lights come towards the bride's face and to shoot from the shadow side of the face. In our case here the only way to achieve that lighting direction was by directing the bride's chin up without looking awkward. As such, I asked the groom to nibble on the bride's neck. As a reaction she raised her chin and giggled. It was that moment of love I captured in this perfect wedding photograph.
