In terms of composition, this is a well-balanced photograph. On the right-hand side the main subject of the image is the kissing couple. The coupeare perfectly balanced by the maid of honour was looking at them. The human eye is trained to recognize faces and give them the proper attention. One would think the couple and the maid of honour are competing for that attention. However, that would be wrong. In fact, the maid of honour is emphasizing the power of the main subject by looking at the newlyweds. Her gaze creates a leading lines that makes it clear the bride and groom are the most important people in the frame.
