This splendid marriage at King Edward hotel was peppered with moments of love and this is one of those occasions I was privileged to photograph. I absolutely love when on the special day the couple is uninhibited and not afraid to manifest their love for each other. After all, the wedding day is the most beautiful and the best day of one's life. The birth of the new family, fulfilling of the couple's dream of tying the knot in the start of many other dreams together makes the newlyweds full of joy.
Depending on the culture, sometimes the bride and groom do not openly show their love for each other but rather through symbols and gestures. In those situations, I'm forced to take action and elicit those moments when they don't occur naturally. Often, it is the professional photographer's fault because he didn't build a rapport with his clients. As such the artist needs time to build the trust and sadly, on the big day, time is a luxury. That's why I always recommend my couples to do an engagement photo shoot. It is not the beauty of the engagement photography session and its results that makes me recommend that. It is rather the fact that I can spend time and know the couple and I can gain their trust. When that happens, on the special day I have absolutely no problem in the bride and groom are happy to follow my directions because they know the photographs will be astonishing.
In this case, I noticed a place where everything came together. The light was beautiful, the background amazing so I just needed the subjects to be positioned in that spot and for me to capture their emotions. As such, I asked the bride and groom to imagine the following scenario: he is a soldier returning from war after five years and they had to share this passionate hog together.
