Jennifer and Jamal had a chic and romantic wedding at Redcrest Cardinal Golf Club a beautiful wedding venue in King City. When I met the beautiful bride and groom, they told me that wedding photography is very important for them and we made sure we didn't disappoint them. When the couple saw the pictures, they were ecstatic and couldn't wait to share them with the friends, family and the guests.
On the wedding day, we arrived early at the golf club so we can take photos of the main building and to scout the location for the best spots to photograph the bride and groom portraits. Once the beautiful bride had her hair and makeup done, we headed to the bridal suite to take a few portraits of her and to photograph the bride's accessories (shoes, rings, garter, bouquet, etc.). As the couple planned to have a first look, we ensured that they didn't see each other inadvertently during the bridal photo shoot. As you will soon discover, time flies on the big day and everybody was ready for their outdoor wedding ceremony, on the "10th Tee." If you are getting married between May and October, I highly recommend that you have an outdoor ceremony. The place overlooks the golf course and the pond and the backdrop is perfect for your wedding photos. After the ceremony, while the guests were enjoying the cocktail hour, we headed to the golf course for some creative photos of the bride and groom. The light was beautiful and the couple even got a few minutes to roam around the golf course and to the 18-hole mini putt in the Hummer golf cart offered by the venue as part of the package. As a side note, when you decide on the wedding date, please ensure there are the over 200 golf tournaments and special events the facility hosts every year will not delay things. After the photo shoot, the newlyweds couple joined their family and guests in the Executive Lounge for their wedding reception. Just before the sunset, I asked the bride and groom to join us for a quick photo shoot on the Executive Lounge balcony. Later that night, after the speeches we invited the couple to a night photo session where he created some stunning photographs. Wedding photographer tip: have a night photo shoot after the main events are completed (first dance, parents dances, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss). That way you will enjoy the experience without being concerned about your upcoming speech.
Thank you Jennifer and Jamaal for allowing us to document your big day!

Question: What was the most challenging part of the special day? Answer: The fact the officiant was stuck in traffic and late for about 30 minutes reduced the time allocated to the photo shoot
Question: what was the most emotional moment of the day? Answer: the father of the bride told a touching story of the groom walking 20 km in a snowstorm to reach the bride who was hospitalized. That love and dedication was impressive and everyone, including the wedding photographers cried that day.
Question: what was the funniest moment of the evening? Answer: during the speeches, the father of the bride told a funny story. The bride was a child and she wanted earrings so she pierced the holes herself.
Question: what was the best time to photograph at this wedding? Answer: right after the ceremony, we took family photos. The sun was almost setting and my second photographer and I took beautiful family photographs.
Question: Which is your favourite photograph you took at this special event? Answer: I love all of them but if I were to pick one or two it would be those of the couple and the jellyfish and the fire.
Question: was there anything you would say to the venue staff? Answer: yes, thank you for all your hard work to make this day perfect for the couple! Thank you for the continuos supply of cold bottled water, so much needed for the guests and photographers shooting in full sun at a temperature of over 30C.
Question: do you have any tips for couples getting married at this location? Answer: Yes! Please build time buffers so in case things go wrong, you don't stress out. Also, make sure you and your bridal party have flat shoes and or "solemates".
Question: "are there any must have shots?" Yes, I would highly recommend taking night shots of the couple. The day is almost over and everyone is more relaxed. Also, because the event space is far from the city, one can create beautiful night looks without photos suffering from "city light contamination". Have some sparklers ready so that we can finish your wedding album or gallery with a romantic image.
