This is by far one of the most favourite wedding photos I took at Liberty Grand. I took this romantic portrait of the bride and groom during the wedding reception while the guests and the family were having a good time on the dance floor.
As usual, I asked the newlywed couple to join me and the second photographer for a quick night photo session. This is something I always recommend during my consultations, so a journal brides and grooms allocate 5 to 10 minutes in their timeline for this particular photo session.
One might ask what makes this such a beautiful image? The answer is simple: the colours, the romantic pose, the bride and groom's expression, and the unique composition. Let's start with the beginning.
The frame is made of a palette of orange and blue and we all know these complementary colours are very pleasing to the human eye. The bride and groom where a white gown and a black tux, which go well will the whole colour scheme.
This romantic pose tells the viewer that the bride and groom are having a lovely moment and we, the photographers just happened to capture it. That gives the whole image a voyeuristic feel that makes this wedding photo special. In addition to that, the bride and groom's expression rounds the whole visual experience.
Finally, the composition is superb. The foreground lamp balances the couple in the background magnificently to create a splendid image.
