GROOM'S WEDDING DETAILS

This wedding at One King West hotel in downtown Toronto had a multitude of marriage related items we photographed for the bride and groom. At this beautiful Persian wedding, the bride and groom and their families exchanged plenty of gifts.

The image on the left shows a letter written by the bride to the groom, a gift box for the groom to open on the wedding day, a bow tie and a belt.

The photo on the right looks like a watch ad in a posh fashion magazine. It shows the gift the groom received on his wedding day - a beautiful Movado watch. On the wedding day, just before the ceremony, the bride and groom exchanged gifts. Having experienced that at other weddings, I asked them to wait so I can photograph their reactions as they open the boxes. Gifts from family and guests are often a trigger for genuine emotions. A good wedding photographer anticipates these moments and if needed, creates them.

One of my tricks is to make the groom wait on the wedding day. I either make him wait for his bride, to open a letter or see a beloved relative such as his mother or father. The human willpower is like a muscle and the more I test it on the special day, the more it experiences fatigue. As such, at key moments like the first look, the couples are so emotional and have been through so many events that they often break down in tears as you can see in this image of the first look.

One of my most popular suggestions for the bride and groom is to have a first look before the wedding ceremony. Fortunately, this venue located in the heart of the financial district in downtown Toronto abounds in sites where the couples can see each other regardless of the season.
