EMOTIONAL FIRST LOOK

At this One King West wedding in downtown Toronto I had the pleasure of capturing the most beautiful first look ever, despite the limitations of the venue. Given that the wedding took place in January and the weather did not collaborate, we had to have the first look inside the beautiful hotel.

I love when couples agree to see each other before their wedding ceremony as it gives me an opportunity to create beautiful imagery. The emotions are so intense before the ceremony and reception that often couples burst into tears. That allows me to capture beautiful photojournalistic portraits of the bride and groom.

The album spread presents a sequence of four photos taken during the first look.

In the left image, that occupies about 80% of the spread, we can see the bride and groom looking at each other overwhelmed with emotion. They are both laughing and crying at the same time. The skyscrapers in downtown Toronto form a beautiful backdrop for this image.

I captured this image in the bridal suite located on the 35th floor of the beautiful hotel.

The next image captures the bride and groom hugging in the foreground, while the mother of the groom looks at them in the background. We can also see the groom's brother wiping a tear.

The third photo, taken by my second shooter portrays the same moment from a different angle.

Finally, the last image shows a very emotional groom breaking into tears. On his right, the bride is  smiling and trying to console him.

To capture this important scene of the wedding day I used two 5D Mark III cameras equipped with a Canon 35mm 1.4 and a Canon 85mm 1.2 lenses.

In post production I corrected the perspective, added a vignette and skin softening.
