After we took portraits of the groom getting ready at Old Mill Toronto it was time to photograph the groomsmen.
We asked them to keep their attention on the photographer and look around the room. After about 5 minutes of shooting, we got the shots we wanted. We ended up with about 20 to 25 individual shots.
were all wearing their dress shirts from their bachelor party, so they looked awesome! Here is the group in front of the old mill in Toronto that we used to take photos around back in the day. We tried to take some candid photos that would capture a feeling of love and emotion, so we ended up taking photos of the groomsmen goofing off, posing next to each other, and just having a good time with their friends.
A few of them had never been to a wedding before so I needed to make sure they felt comfortable. To help with that I wanted them to feel relaxed and enjoy the wedding. I also needed to make sure they looked good in their suits.
They all came out with a lot of good poses at this venue. My favorite was the last one where they were all posing together for the phones. It’s a nice group shot with everyone's phone in focus.
One thing I liked about this is that it was a casual photo shoot with no real direction. There were no rules other than making sure the guys looked good. I gave them some props and let them do what they wanted.
I spent some time talking to the groomsmen and the groom before we headed out and then I had a few minutes before we started shooting. I asked if they would be comfortable standing up and leaning against a wall. Most said sure.
One of my favorite things to shoot is candid photos. There is so much that goes into capturing a great shot like this. I tried to focus on capturing a moment, not worrying about the lighting or other people in the photo.
