After photographing the groom and the groomsmen we headed to the bridal suite at King Edward Hotel. There, the beautiful bride and the rest of the girls in the wedding party were having the hair and makeup done. As it usually happens, I asked my second shooter to look for candid moments while I try to direct the scene.
First we moved the furniture that is either distractive or does not look good in the frame. It is not uncommon on the big day for us to move around couches tables or even have your pieces of furniture in order to clear a wall or the light is great.
In this photograph we can see a few layers or stories if you want. The main subject of the image is the bride who is having her makeup done. She's placed in the foreground and occupies largest portion of the frame. In the middle ground we see the maid of honour looking at the bride. Finally, in the mirror behind the bride we see her mother smiling at her beautiful daughter.
I have to admit that this image was a combination of proper planning and a bit of luck for the expression of the three ladies in the photograph is perfect.
