Creative Portrait of Groom during his Wedding at King Edward Hotel

Having your portrait taken next to the Queen Mary on your wedding day is quite an event and when I described my concept, the groom was happy to play along.

Before heading to the wedding ceremony in the Crystal Ballroom, I asked the bridal party and the groom to take a few shots around the beautiful hotel and this particular image is only one of the beautiful shot I took that day.

How I Created this Photograph

To create this splendid image, I asked the groom to lean against the wall close to the Queen's painting. To create a balanced composition, I placed the groom on the left of the frame so that he is visually equal
to the large painting of the Queen placed on the right-hand side of the frame. The beauty of this image is given by its lighting.

The photograph is created by superimposing two images. In the first one, my second shooter lit to the groom from the right. In the second shot, we lit the painting so that in the final frame both subjects have the same visual weight. Also, due to the fact the painting is above the groom's level, it creates a virtual diagonal that gives the picture dynamism.
