Beautiful Bride is Looking in the Mirror at King Edward Hotel Wedding
It is no secret that I love delivering my clients a variety of looks to describe their beautiful wedding day. My images range from very traditional to photo journalistic and I always, always include a few very creative photographs.
One of my Toronto wedding photographer colleagues taught me that brides love pretty things. Even the brides who come from a very technical background (computer science, engineering, etc.) or the financial industry love beautiful images. This most probably has to do with the beauty of the special day and with that state when the mind and heart are filled with joy.
To create this mysterious portrait of the beautiful bride I waited for the right moment when she looked into the mirror. Using a long lens, I captured her reflection in the mirror. The photograph shows only the bride's beautiful eyes and her holding the mirror in the background. In the foreground we see her hadcover by white veil.
Composition of this Photograph
What makes this image stand out is its mysterious nature and its composition. Because we are not able to see the bride's face in its totality, we are forced to think and that creates a slight tension, which makes the image more appealing to the human brain according to the principles of Gestalt.
Also, building upon that tension we have the presence of the negative space. Finally, the composition is dynamic and the brides had an reflectionare aligned alongside the baroque diagonal.
