Love was present everywhere at this wedding at King Edward Hotel in downtown Toronto. If somebody wanted to give the definition of love in an image, this would be probably it. This particular photograph portrays the bride and groom captured while hugging and kissing passionately in front of St. James Cathedral, steps from King Eddie Hotel.
The picture captures the moment when the groom dipped to the bride and kissed her passionately like one of the scenes in Gone with the Wind movie. The interesting fact is that the bridal party and a few guests were right behind the wedding photographers when this moment occurred. Generally, on the big day the bride and groom are uninhibited and show their love openly which for the professional photographer is a gift. We just need to keep our cameras ready so that we can capture beautiful images and moments that pepper the wedding day.
There are plenty of venues in the Greater Toronto Area but the King Edward Hotel is one that is closest to my heart as I have photographed quite a few marriages here. The beautiful establishment was erected to celebrate the royal visit to Canada about 100 years ago and was a good host for celebrities ranging from Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton to Beyoncé and many others.
The whole area is very appropriate for a photo shoot and on this couple special day we do have to travel too far to create beautiful imagery. We took a few photos along King Street just in front of the hotel, then we walked for 23 minutes towards St. James Cathedral in Park where we took the formal portraits of the wedding party and few family photos as well as the bride and groom photo shoot.
