Beautiful Bridal Portrait at King Edward Hotel

One of my favourite parts of this King Edward Hotel wedding was the bridal portraits photo shoot. The bride and groom are one of the sweetest couples I had the privilege to photograph in my whole wedding photography career. As such, I wanted to create a special images that the couple will cherish for decades to come. I am a father and I spend countless hours with my daughter looking at my wedding photographs. She always comments about the beauty of her mother and about the fact I used to have more hair in the past. Well, there is only so much can do about that.

Going back your special day, I noticed this beautiful red wall in the apartment provided by King Edward Hotel and decided to use it as a backdrop. Truth be told, the hotel offers plenty of backgrounds for photography and I believe I documented at least 20 marriages at this beautiful event space. Honestly, even the best wedding photographers in the GTA wish they could have done that many events at this spectacular location.

As I mentioned before, the beautiful bride look stunning on their big day and I want to create a few non-traditional portraits of her. Here, I asked her to look towards the window and to close her eyes. I always direct my subjects, especially the females turned their face into the light in the body way from the light and I shoot from the narrow side. Let me explain this: when somebody looks towards the light, half of the face is placed in the shade and the shadow creates a slimming effect. It only happens when the photographer shoots from the dark side (not from the light side). That simple trick allows us to shed at least 10 pounds, which of course or beautiful brides love. Even when photographing a lean person such as this beautiful lady, it doesn't hurt to make her shine even brighter.
