As a Toronto wedding photographer, I always look for beautiful locations to complement my clients' looks. There are a spots in Toronto Botanical Garden where I always like to take engagement photos and wedding day portraits and this is one of them. The beautiful fountain featuring a statue caring two amphorae makes it a perfect visual attraction for wedding day and engagement portraits.
The image on the left features Katerina and Taylor dancing. To achieve this image we had to ask a few people to leave because they were photo bombing the shot.
The picture on the right is different because I wanted to give it a voyeuristic feel. The engaged couple are kissing and I shot this image behind a bush.
There are a few elements in these pictures that make them different. The image on the right has three layers. The foreground consists of a yellow bush that gives the image depth and direct your eye to the couple kissing. The middle layer in the shot is obviously the couple. They are standing, kissing, oblivious to the rest of the world. Finally, the gorgeous backdrop consists of a beautiful tree doubled by a stone fence.
The image on the left uses the balance as a compositional technique. The statue offers a visual balance to the couple dancing.
