The bride and groom photo shoot to placed before the wedding ceremony at Château Le Parc. Myself and the second wedding photographer had to move fast because we were shooting on a hot summer day.
In this image we only used natural light. One of the advantages of this technique is that we could move fast as you can have set up any additional strobes or flashes. Also, the images look natural because the couple didn't need to wait for us to create a complicated lighting scenario.
This proves that a professional photographer can deliver good results regardless of the situation.
The main light in this perfect wedding photo is given by the sun that is placed behind the couple. That creates a perfect separation between the bride and groom in the dark background. By placing the couple in front of a dark background I achieved a couple of things, all conducive to great image. First, by positioning the bride and groom in the foreground, the occupy most of the frame, which makes them the clear subject in this photograph. Second, because the subjects are brighter than the backdrop they stand out.
The pose is very simple: I asked the bride and groom to hold hands and kiss and my composition is asymmetrical leaving plenty of negative space on the right side of the frame, which creates tension in the viewer's mind.
