As a professional wedding photographer I love those moments when stars align and I can combine beautiful light, emotion, action and in this case the illusion of sound to create a beautiful picture. In this image taken during the reception at Château Le Parc we can see the bride and groom kissing on stage while the live band performs behind them.
During the reception, the bride and groom hired Party Crew - an amazing team of entertainers that consisted of musicians, dancers and the phenomenal MC that created an incendiary atmosphere on the special day. When the band started playing a slow song, the bride and groom went on stage and started dancing. In this picture we can see that vocalist, the violinist and the saxophone player in the background looking at the newlyweds couple dancing.
In this wedding photo, to light the scene I used a combination of flash and ambient multicoloured light. While the bride and groom are lit properly, the band is washed in a mix of blue and violet light. My main light was coming from my on camera flash while the ambient light was provided by various reflectors placed on stage. I have to confess I was impressed by this wedding venue's audio video and lighting system. This photograph is a clear example of the high quality technology used by this event space and the DJ.
The only thing that I wish were different in this image is the presence of the videographer behind the couple. Unfortunately, the band hired their own videographer was often in our shot and we can see him in many pictures we took on the wedding day.
