Emotional Mother Son Dance at a Roma's Hospitality Centre Wedding

At this at Roma's Hospitality Centre wedding I experienced the most emotional mother son dance in my whole Toronto wedding photography career.

Because the mother of the groom passed away a few weeks before the wedding, the groom's sister stepped in during the mother son dance. In this heartbreaking photograph, we can see for people crying: the groom, his sister, the bride and the sister of the bride have tears rolling down their cheeks. Even I remember I was  crying during this emotional death.

This image uses a technique called layering to create depth and dimension in this photograph. I placed the groom and his sister in the foreground while the rest of the subjects in this image are located in the background. The are looking at the groom and his sister creating virtual leading lines that directs a viewer's attention to the main subject of the photograph, the couple dancing.

To create this image I used a Canon 35mm 1.4 lens shot at F2. It is a balanced asymmetrical shot that I processed in black and white to keep unaltered the candid nature of the photograph. The frame has a 12" x 24" format, which gives it a cinematic look.

Location: 5980 Shawson Dr, Mississauga, ON L4W 3Z6.
