A Palays Royale wedding is the perfect event for the brides and grooms looking for an amazing wedding venue featuring a splendid ballroom adorned with Art Deco elements. Because during this wedding the weather was cold, the bride and groom chose to have a first look in the Red Room. This private area was perfect for the unveiling of the bride and our wedding planner make sure nobody interfered during the first look. Immediately after that, we took creative pictures of the bride and groom then moved to the Parlour for bridal party photos.
This particular image is a close-up portrait of the bride and groom. Here, the groom is hugging the bride while she rests her left hand on his shoulder. What makes this photo unique is that I captured it at a very shallow depth of field and the focus is not on the bride and groom, but on the brides engagement ring. That artistic choice leaves room for imagination and creates tension in this photograph as the bride and groom are slightly out of focus. To match the Palays Royale art deco style, I applied a vintage processing to this image in post production. Also, this look gives the image a candid feel.
When the viewer looks at this photograph, her eyes travel to the bride's face, who is looking away from the groom just outside the frame. Because the bride is positioned according to the rule of thirds on the right side of the frame, her looking out so close to the edge of the picture creates mystery in this photograph.
