Newlyweds Portrait at King Edward Hotel Wedding

Having photographed quite a few weddings at King Edward Hotel, I know every single spot in this beautiful building. As such, sometimes I want to get out and try something different. This time, the bride and groom wanted to go outdoors and shoot in the streets around the hotel. It was a cold October afternoon and we had to move fast. The downtown roads were very busy but I pre-visualized a beautiful shot right in front of the hotel.

On King Street there is a tramway line which,  in this picture creates a beautiful diagonal from the top left to the bottom right of the frame. I asked the bride and groom to stand on the tram line in one of the impact points according to the phi armature. A fraction of a second later I noticed a black car entering the frame and they waited for the right moment to capture this beautiful picture. The car on the left advances along the tramway line and direct the viewer's attention towards the bride and groom. The car visually balances the bride and groom in this image. As a side note, the courteous driver allowed us to shoot a few frames while waiting patiently.

In post-production only dodged and burned this image and applied beauty retouching to the bride.

Location: 37 King St E, Toronto, ON M5C 1E9.
